The Benchmade 391T SOCP is a folding training knife with no derived cutting edge and a sharp tip, designed for safe yet realistic knife fighting training. The knife was designed by Greg Thompson, creator of the S. O. C. P. program, a combat system used by US Army special units. Safe head The 113mm long blade is made of tough and durable D2 tool steel hardened to 60-62 HRC. The training knife is devoid of combat characteristics , this means that it has no derived cutting edge and a sharp tip. This design makes the knife a safe training tool , while maintaining the identical weight, and functionality of the tactical version. The red color scheme enhances safety, as it allows quick verification of the knife. Convenient unfolding The blade is unfolded by a symmetrical disk located on the back of the blade , allowing right- and left-handed people to operate the knife. The size of the disk and its convenient location allow unfolding the blade with gloves. Safety during operation The knife uses the flagship lock of the Benchmade brand, i. e. the Axis-lock mechanism valued for its great resistance to dynamic loads, insensitivity to dirt and ease of use . The strength and rigidity of the knife's construction is ensured by solid steel liners of increased thickness. Lightweight and durable liners The knife has contoured liners made of special CF-Elite (carbon fiber reinforced nylon), which is much lighter and stiffer than, for example, G10 laminate. The finger cutout and deep milling on the liners provide a stable grip on the knife, and impressively accentuate the tactical nature of the knife. Discreetly carrying the knife in your pocket is made possible by a high-mounted clip that can be switched to the other side.
